2014 SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS

2014 MDTA SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED

The Missouri Dump Truckers Association has awarded three $1,000 scholarships for the 2013-2014 collegiate year. The three recipients are Luke Hasenjaeger, son Darrell and Linda Hasenjaeger of Marthasville; Katy Hays, daughter of Nancy Hays of Monroe City; and Tiffany Wilson, daughter of Lynn & Connie Wilson of Brumley.


Luke Hasenjaeger is a 2013 graduate of Washington High School. This fall Luke is attending Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, Missouri pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering or possibly engineering management. While balancing studies and baseball, Luke’s goal is to graduate with at least a 3.5 GPA and be placed into a job he is excited to begin following graduation.


Katy Hays currently attends Hannibal-LaGrange University in Hannibal, Missouri majoring in Secondary Education in the field of Communication Arts. Katy’s goal is to become a high school teacher in Missouri. Katy was honored to receive the MDTA scholarship last year, and she is still extremely appreciative for it. She plans to take summer classes and return again in the fall. Katy graduated from Monroe City R-1 High School.



Tiffany Wilson is a 2013 graduate of School of the Osage High School. In the fall, Tiffany plans to attend Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri pursuing a degree in nursing to become a registered nurse advancing into a nurse practitioner. Being a recipient of the MDTA scholarship will allow Tiffany to pursue her chosen profession and enable her to fulfill her desire to help others and expand her knowledge and horizons. Tiffany wants to help to be able to help patients who cannot help themselves. Tiffany believes once her goals are met, she will be able to provide something meaningful to all her patients in the healthcare field.

Lawn Care - 2008-Present:  cut grass and provide various lawn care services.

Hasenjaeger Trucking, Inc. - 2011-Present:  Truck maintenance, detailing trucks.

Hay Rake Acres (farm) – 2012:  paint fences, general maintenance

Luke is currently not employed.  Luke wanted to receive the MDTA scholarship because it would be extremely helpful in paying for college expenses and a great honor for his family’s business.  Luke will be mostly self-supportive in paying for college.

KATY HAYS

Katy Hays

Katy is currently a freshman attending Hannibal-LaGrange University with a GPA of 3.69.  While attending Monroe City R-1 High School, Katy had a 3.95 GPA.

Now employed in healthcare working approximately 24 hours a week.

The high school principal stated Tiffany was a very hard worker in everything she does.  Tiffany is looked up to by her peers and by the faculty as a student who is hardworking, honest, and genuinely polite.  Tiffany is a fantastic student with a heart of gold!
