Austin is a student at the Missouri University of Science and Technology, where he is currently studying Mechanical Engineering. He hopes to work as a Project Engineer at Mechanical Dynamics & Analysis, Ltd. (MD&A), leading the repair of turbine rotors and generator fields. His current college GPA is 3.43 on a 4.0 scale. Austin graduated from Wright City High School with a 4.02 GPA.

Work Experience:

Austin worked as an intern at MD&A as a Quality Engineer in the summer of 2017 and 2018 and plans to return in 2019. He is still employed with MD&A Repairs as a Quality Engineer working weekends, breaks, and summers when the school schedule permits. Austin was placed in their Generator Specialist training program where he will be taught how to manage the repair of large power generation machinery.  Austin also cuts and sells firewood.

Austin has been able to pay his tuition in full by working through school and breaks. Austin appreciates this scholarship as it has greatly helped to achieve his goal of graduating from college debt free.

Emily is a Junior at Central Methodist University majoring in Education. Emily graduated from Hermann High School in the Spring of 2017. Emily wants to be a school teacher because she loves being around children and aspires to be a role model for many of them. Her college GPA is 3.941 on a 4.0 scale.

Community/Service Activities:

College: In college, Emily volunteers with a team at the local food pantry in Fayette, Mo.  They also go to the food bank in Columbia, Mo to bag food.  She participated in Screen Fee Night at Central Methodist, promoting children to stay off their phones by creating a fun activity for the children to do.  When she can, she volunteers at St. George Catholic Church during dinners.

High School: In high school, Emily volunteered at church fish fries, participated in 4-H trash pick-up, assisted coaching for middle school volleyball, tutored elementary children, and mowed the grass at St. Anthony’s Church.

Work Experience:

Emily is a college athlete so it is challenging to hold a full-time job. When she comes home on the weekends she helps feed the cows on the family farm. When it is possible, Emily helps at the pheasant hunting club her father manages by sorting paperwork and organizing the food for the day. The past summers she has been a lifeguard at the pool in Hermann, cashiered in a local store, and had an internship with the Conservation of Soil and Water in Montgomery City.

Emily Engemann is a very outgoing person who keeps fellow students on task and is a peer leader in her classes.

Darby is a student at Missouri State University where she is currently studying Exercise and Movement Science, a Pre-Professional degree to pursue her passion for helping others through a career in Occupational Therapy. Her current college GPA is 3.89 on a 4.0 scale. Darby graduated from Francis Howell High School.

Community and Other Activities:

My new community is Springfield, Mo. and she loves going out and giving back/contributing as a new member.  She volunteers at the Bass Pro Marathon Run every November and at Miracle League as a buddy to kids with disabilities every fall.

Work Activity:

Darby fully believes in giving back and contributing when she can. When she is at home, she actively volunteers with Friends of Kids with Cancer. She continues to assist her grandma in town with house activities and lawn duties. She helps her father with outdoor work such as cutting firewood. Darby helps her mother in her classroom with arrangements or grading.

Darby’s Associate Head Coach said Darby is our best role model. She is attentive to details both in the classroom and on the field.  She is thoughtful and caring. She leads by example by doing the right things all the time.  Her character is impeccable and her peers respect her very much. Because of her hard work and dedication, she will be your brightest example. Darby is deserving of this scholarship because of her dedication to achieving academic success. Her college GPA of 3.89 demonstrates her commitment to excellence.

Haley will graduate in May 2019 from Raymore Peculiar High School with a 3.24 GPA. Haley plans to attend Metropolitan Community College-Longview for two years to complete general education courses. She plans to transfer to Wichita State University to major in Forensic Science. After college, she plans to become a crime scene investigator for a local police department.
