2015 SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS


2015 MDTA SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED

The Missouri Dump Truckers Association has awarded three $1,000 scholarships for the 2014-2015 collegiate year. The three recipients are Luke Hasenjaeger, son of Darrell and Linda Hasenjaeger of Marthasville; Kaitlyn Willing, daughter of Kerri (Silvey) Willing, and Abbey Cooper, daughter of Brian & Stephanie Cooper.


Abbey Cooper is a 2014 graduate of New Franklin High School. In the fall, Abbey plans to attend Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College in Miami, Oklahoma seeking a major in Animal Science specializing in Genetics. Abbey is attending a college out of state in order to pursue her interest in rodeo and equine science. While in college, Abbey will be competing on the rodeo team.

 

Luke Hasenjaeger is a 2013 graduate of Washington High School. Since fall of 2013, he has attended Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, Missouri pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a possible minor in engineering management. 



Kaitlyn Willing is a 2014 graduate of Hannibal High School. In the fall, Kaitlyn plans to attend Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri pursuing a B.S. or B.A. in Psychology. She plans to earn a Masters and eventually a Doctorate in Psychology and becoming a psychologist at a public or private school to help make a difference in children’s lives.

Abbey Cooper

While attending New Franklin High School, Abbey achieved a 3.57/4.0 GPA throughout high school by working hard and challenging herself with high-level courses.

Abbey is currently not employed.


The high school counselor stated Abbey has an important trait for young people.  Abbey is a leader when she needs to be and a follower when she needs to be.  She is still very willing to learn.  Abbey is a well-rounded young person who has committed a great deal of time and energy to her future education and career.

LUKE HASENJAEGER

Luke Hasenjaeger

Luke has a 3.826/4.0 GPA attending Missouri University of Science and Technology.  While balancing studies and baseball, Luke’s goal is to graduate with at least a 3.5 GPA and be placed into a job he is excited to begin the following graduation.

Lawn Care - 2008-2013:  cut grass and provide various lawn care services.

Hay Rake Acres (farm) – 2012:  paint fences, general maintenance

Luke wanted to receive the MDTA scholarship because it would be extremely helpful in paying for college expenses and a great honor for his family’s business.  Luke will be mostly self-supportive in paying for college.
