ABOUT MISSOURI DUMP TRUCKERS ASSOCIATION

INTRODUCTION

The Missouri Dump Truckers Association, Inc., (MDTA) founded in 1970, is a voluntary state-wide trade association. It is incorporated as a not-for-profit entity, which has been granted 501(c)(6) tax-exempt status by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service because of the services provided to our members.

MDTA is dedicated to promoting the common interest and devoted to improving business conditions of the dump truck industry from the performance of the services offered and development of high professional standards of conduct among the dump truck owners and operators.

PURPOSE

Our principle purpose is to improve and protect the economic and political position of our membership by working for the fair and reasonable enactment of enforcement of regulations and statutes as they apply to the dump truck industry. Only through achievement of this goal can the dump truck industry be a growing, strong, effective and modern segment of the overall transportation industry and that we, in turn, can best serve the needs of the public.

Among our intent is to bring our members together and unite them in a common cause in spite of past differences and present competition. We have become convinced that individual action in today’s economy, influenced by governmental institutions and agencies, is seldom effective. We have experienced the weakness of not being united and we are determined to have a fair and just return of our efforts, investments and skills, and to protect ourselves from being taken advantage of by stronger segments of the economy, of institutions or agencies unfamiliar with our needs and problems.

MAJOR OBJECTIVES

The major objectives of the association are to:

Provide an organization through which members of the dump truck industry can coordinate in unison their efforts in addressing and solving problems of interest and concerns common to the industry.

WHY SHOULD I BELONG TO MDTA?

“Every man owes a part of his time and money to the business or industry in which he is engaged. No man has a moral right to withhold his support from an organization that is striving to improve conditions within his sphere.”

— Theodore Roosevelt, 1908

INVESTMENT IN YOUR BUSINESS!

An association is limited to what it can do for you by the amount of time, energy and money invested in the association. The degree of success of an association depends on the time, talents, and energy expended by each member even more than the amount of money invested. There are certain functions and services that an association can perform that are impossible through individual initiative. For any association to be successful requires collective thinking, collective physical effort and collective economic support. There is strength in numbers.
